Many Stories ... One Author

Behind every person coming to Christ is a story written by one Author. Though every story may have similarities, each one is different because the Author is creative.

Wing Wong joined Restoration House Ministries in 2004 and brought with him his well-developed ministry in China. Wing employs and trains a number of ministers in China as well as being the preaching minister of the Malden (Massachusetts) Christian Church of Grace. This e-newsletter is about his most recent trip and the baptisms that resulted. 

In March 2005 in the China province of Jiangxi there was a building for sale. Looking at it through American eyes, we would probably have knocked it down to build something completely new. But Chinese eyes look at things differently. The church in the town where this building was located saw that with some renovation it could become a great place for worship. And so, in faith, they stepped out and, with Wing's help, raised money to buy and completely renovate the building. Now it doesn't even look like the same building!

Even before this building was located and renovated, people were coming from three different towns to worship in the church's rented facility. But after they started meeting in the new building, interest in the things of God increased and many wanted to take the important step of being Christ followers.

In August, 32 people were baptized into Christ in the newly constructed baptistery inside their building. The individual stories are not known by many on this earth, but God knows them. We can, however, say this: because these new believers have decided to follow Christ, they may be persecuted even to the point of being put into jail for their faith. Some may lose their jobs. In China, that is often the price to be paid for following Christ.
