Support Staff Ministry

Bob and Carol work in the newly formed Support Staff Ministry

Carol and Bob work in the newly formed Support Staff Ministry. They offer personal support to the ministry teams of the churches, training for church leaders, and resources for the churches. They also assist with hospitality at the Restoration House.

Born near Murphsyboro, IL, Carol (Schnaare) attended Pleasant Hill Christian Church. She graduated from St. Louis Christian College with a B.S. in Christian Education and from Harding University Graduate School of Religion in Memphis, TN, with a M.A. in Counseling. As a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, she has worked within the church, in private practice, community mental health, as a volunteer police chaplain, and national disaster responder with the Red Cross.

Raised near Beecher City, IL, and nurtured by the Beecher City Church of Christ, Bob graduated with a B.A. in Ministry from St. Louis Christian College, an M.Div. from Harding University Graduate School of Religion, and a D.Min. from Memphis Theological Seminary. He ministered for over 30 years in two local churches (Hillsboro, MO, and Dyersburg, TN) and crisis intervention. He co-founded a Police Chaplaincy (1991) and the Crisis Support Team of Northwest Tennessee (2007). He is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and an Approved Instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.

Bob and Carol have three grown children Rachel Cowgur (EastPointe Christian Church, Portland, ME), Joel (Cumming, GA), and Ben (senior at Lambuth University, Jackson, TN). They moved from Dyersburg into Restoration House over Christmas 2008 and are excited to explore potential supportive ministries with the churches of New England.
