History of Restoration House Ministries
Danny D. Clymer has been Professor of New Testament at Lincoln Christian College since the fall of 1975. Since July of 1996, Dan has also served as Executive Director of Restoration House Ministries in Manchester, NH.
Dan is from Fairview Heights, IL. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Lincoln Christian College in 1970 and the Master of Divinity degree with a major in New Testament from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1973. In 1975 he completed the requirements for the Master of Theology degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA. He attended summer school at Princeton Theological Seminary in 1978 and Harvard Divinity School in 1979. In 1983 residency requirements were completed for PhD studies at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. While attending Lincoln Christian Seminary, Dan was a graduate teaching assistant from 1970-73, and from 1973-75 he was a Greek Teaching Fellow at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He traveled to Israel in 1971 and 1972.
Dan is married to the former Linda Hill of Springfield, IL. They are the parents of three daughters and one son.
In July of 1996 Dan moved his family to Manchester, NH, where he serves as Executive Director of Restoration House Ministries (RHM). The Curt Nordhielm family joined the staff of RHM in 1999, with Curt developing church plants among the ethnic groups of New England. With the partnership of many churches and individuals, God has accomplished the following through RHM:
Education and Intern Programs
- 30 college classes have been offered the last eight years.
- 58 Interns have served in area churches the last nine years.
- Thirteen Interns returned to serve in one-year Resident Ministry positions in New England churches. Five have been hired for full-time positions.
Church Planting
- Colonial Point Christian Church, Manchester, CT, now five years old, averages 220 in attendance with David Johnson as lead planter.
- CrossPoint Christian Church, Auburn, MA (greater Worcester area), almost four years old, is averaging 140 in worship each week under the leadership of Jeff Busby.
- Rinn Sim started the Lowell (MA) Cambodian Christian Church in April, 2000.
- Brandy Lee and Wing Wong, Chinese evangelists, work with the Friday night Asian Christian Fellowship in Manchester, NH (numbering upwards to 80 each week), and started Manchester Chinese Christian Church in September, 2001.
- Rockingham Christian Church opened its doors in November, 2001, in Salem, NH, under the leadership of Tom Palmer. Their average attendance is 120 each week.
- The Eaglebrook Christian Church, Raymond, NH, joined the fellowship of Christian Churches/Churches of Christ in the fall of 2002. Bill Mahoney is lead minister of this congregation.
- LifeBridge Christian Church, Brandon, VT, led by Roger Foster, opened in March, 2003, and averages about 130 each week.
- Oasis Christian Church (African), Providence, RI, opened in the fall of 2003, led by Seokin Payne.
During 2004 the following churches were started:
- Manchester Korean Christian Church, Manchester, NH, Kei Eun Chang, Lead Planter (January 24, 2004)
- EastPointe Christian Church, Portland, ME, Scott Taube, Lead Planter (March 7, 2004, with over 200 attending the first service). EastPointe averages about 220.
- Oasis Christian Church, Concord, NH, Jonathan Rose, Lead Planter (April 4, 2004, with 129 attending the first Sunday). Average attendance at this new church is 120.
During 2005, the runway for one church will begin:
- A Haitian Christian Fellowship in Providence, RI. Gerard Eustache begins Bible studies among the Haitians in Brockton, MA, and Providence, RI, in August with a view of establishing a core group for a new church in Providence.
During 2006, teams are being formed for two church plants:
- The Boston Partnership is scheduled to launch in the fall with four team members moving to the city in September 2005. In addition, four or five campus ministries will be started to impact the educational mecca of the world.
- The Providence Project begins forming its team to launch the first Anglo Christian church in Rhode Island.
From 1999 to the end of 2005, Restoration House Ministries has been privileged to assist in the birth of twelve new churches. We continue to be amazed at the doors God is opening for church planting in New England and are grateful to be used by Him in ways only He could foresee.
